Hymn of Transfiguration
"'Tis good Lord, to be here..."
Of course, we're only halfway up a
Hillside on a far from holy mountain.
If the music of the spheres was heard
At the original transfiguration, today
It's sounding from that saxophone
By Marks & Spencer's.
No ancient sage, no prophet bearing
Law (unless you count the clergy, or
David setting out the prayer book.)
Disciples here assembled are, St.
James the Elder, St Beth the Regular,
A pew in front of St Ann the Facetious.
However, this is still our centre,
Our belonging place.
