Anglican Quadrille

We will give you a new order, said the Synod to the Church,
There’s a New Age close behind us, can’t you feel its forward lurch;
Its pagan, oriental and inexorable advance?
It’ll kill the Church of England if we give it half a chance.
So Ritual A or Ritual B or C D E F G,
Ritual A or Ritual B or C D E F G.

You really have no notion how delightful it will be,
When we burst in with our purpose and throw out the ASB.
The further off from England and its heritage we dance,
The nearer to The Kingdom - why do you look askance
at Ritual A and Ritual B and C D E F G,
Ritual A and Ritual B and C D E F G?

There is another shore, you know - a far and mystic kind,
(Though there’s no chance that we’ll find it with the Common Worship mind)
So join with glee O C of E, and you may yet, perchance,
Enjoy the convolutions of the alphabetic dance
of Ritual A and Ritual B and C D E F G,
Ritual A and Ritual B and C D E F G.
