Rowan Williams visits St Peter's

Opening Eucharist of the thirteenth meeting of the Anglican Consultative Council - Sunday 19th June 2005

The Archbishop in processionOn Sunday 19th June 2005 Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, presided at the opening Eucharist of the thirteenth meeting of the Anglican Consultative Council, which was held at St Peter's Church. Delegates from thirty-six Provinces of the Anglican Church processed through the streets of Nottingham from the Council House where they had robed. The Archbishop was preceded by the Canterbury Cross and the two Church Wardens of St Peter's. During the service music was provided by Chariots of Joy, the gospel choir who are part of the Pilgrim Church in the Meadows, and by the St Peter's Church Choir. The sermon was preached by the Revd Joel Edwards, Executive Director of the Evangelical Alliance.
