The Choir of St Peter’s plus special guests
To celebrate the eightieth birthday of Kendrick Partington, former Director of Music at St Peter’s and founder of the Coffee Break Concert series, the Choir of St Peter’s will be joined by former choristers, former organists and other special guests.

Concert lasts one hour, coffee and biscuits for sale from 10.15am
William Burn (bass-baritone)
Philip Collin (piano)
William Burn and Philip Collin will be exploring two of the greatest song cycles for bass-baritone, Wolf’s Michelangelo Lieder and Poulenc’s Le Bestiaire. Also included in the programme are Brahms’s Vier Ernste Gesänge, Quilter’s first set of Shakespeare songs, some well-known songs by John Ireland and some less well-known songs by Pelham Humfrey.

Singers from the University of Nottingham
Under the direction of Peter Siepmann, a group of musicians from the University of Nottingham will present a programme of varied a capella vocal music from across the ages, including both sacred and secular works.

In a recital rescheduled from July, Christine Stevenson will be singing Debussy’s Chansons de Bilitis and songs by Dowland, accompanied by internationally renowned lutenist and early music scholar, Stewart McCoy.

The Choir of St Peter’s, Nottingham
To commemorate the (probable) five hundredth anniversary of Thomas Tallis’s birth and the tenth anniversary of Herbert Sumsion’s death, this concert will feature choral music by those composers and organ music by them and their contemporaries.
Admission is free, collection for charity.

Sarah Simmonds, former Swingle Singer and lead singer of successful 80s pop band Fatal Charm, will be singing songs by Duparc and Wolf as well as music from the lighter side of her repertoire, including Britten’s Cabaret Songs.
Admission is free, collection for charity.

East of England Singers
The East of England Singers, directed by Angela Kay, sing the third and last of a series of concerts of Bach motets at St Peter’s. On this occasion they will be performing Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied (BWV 225), Der Gerechte kommt um and Der Geist hilft (BWV 226).
Admission is free, collection for charity.

The East of England Singers, directed by Angela Kay, sing the second of a series of concerts of Bach motets at St Peter’s. On this occasion they will be performing Jesu, meine Freude (BWV 227) and Furchte dich nicht (BWV 228).
