The
Appeal will run until April 2002, during which period it is hoped that the
full £600,000 will be raised. It is intended that the first phase of work
on the tower and spire will commence on 30 April 2001.
Ways of Giving
It has never been easier to be generous, and the various ways that you
might give are outlined below.
- Personal gifts. Donations from UK taxpayers benefit from the Gift
Aid scheme. If it is helpful to spread your donations over a period of time to
end by the end of September 2002 this can be done by standing order.
- Company gifts.
- Named and "in memoriam" gifts. A number of major gifts will be necessary for us to achieve our
target. We would be delighted to mark our appreciation of such
generosity by linking the donor’s name with various elements of the
St Peter’s Tower Appeal and will discuss specific opportunities,
together with appropriate forms of recognition. Equally, we will
respect donors’ wishes for anonymity.
- Any other gifts are welcome. Direct transfers of stocks, shares and
property do not incur liability to capital gains tax and all outright
gifts, including bequests, will be exempt from inheritance tax.
Please contact the Fundraising Manager if you would like to discuss
these or any other appropriate ways of recording and recognising specific
gifts or if you would like a Gift Aid or Standing Order form.
Your contribution is very important to us. We hope and trust that you
will want to help us in our endeavours to raise the money we need to
preserve the ancient heritage of our city ensuring that this historic
place of spirituality, peace and harmony is maintained and cherished for
future generations.
