Donning their hats

17th December 1999 was a day of celebration for two people well known at St Peter's.

After years of study, Dr George Morley and Dr Esther Elliott dressed up in gowns and fancy hats to receive their PhD degrees in Theology from Nottingham University. Former Rector Leslie Morley was there to share in the celebrations.

Esther's PhD was for work on worship in the Charismatic Movement, while George's specialism was the work of theologian John Macquarrie.
